UK Special Forces Reserve - Comprises of SAS Reserves, SBS Reserves and 63 (SAS) Signal Sqn (Reserves). Sub units are based in locations throughout the UK. Each unit has specific needs to meet their roles and in general seek volunteers with either former military service, serving TA members or those with no previous military experience. Only male volunteers are eligible for SAS(R), ex regular male soldiers for SBS(R) and depending on their role both genders are eligible for 63 (SAS) Sig Sqn. Volunteers are required who demonstrate a maturity, commitment, physical robustness and determination.

Royal Artillery - With its HQ based in Woolwich, London, this unit recruits only ex-Regular Army officers and soldiers with specific military skills.

Royal Engineers - With its HQ based in Chilwell, Nottingham, this unit recruits technically qualified infrastructure engineers.

Army Chaplain’s Department - With its HQ based in Andover, Hampshire, this unit recruits ordained priests and ministers with effective communications and pastoral skills.

Royal Signals - With its HQ based in Corsham, Wiltshire, this unit recruits those qualified in communications infrastructure installations, advanced intruder testing and computer forensics.

Royal Logistic Corps - With its HQ based in Grantham, Lincolnshire, this unit recruits those with transferrable skills or those who wish to train in one of a wide range of logistical trades.

Army Medical Services - With its HQ based in Strensall, near York, this unit recruits the full range of qualified medical professionals including Vets.

Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers - With its HQ based in Bordon, Hampshire, this unit recruits qualified vehicle mechanics, welders, fitters, Metalsmiths etc.

Adjutant General’s Corps - With its HQ based in Worthy Down, near Warminster, Hampshire, this unit recruits those qualified in Policing, law and Education. It also recruits those with a HR background.

Media Operations Group - With its HQ based in Kingston upon Thames this unit recruits qualified TV camera crews, radio presenters, internet specialists and journalists.

Intelligence Corps - Based in locations throughout the UK this unit recruits those ex-Regular Army officers and soldiers with a background in military intelligence and psychological operations.
